Hi, I am Katie Schmidt.

I’m a photographer based in San Diego, California, originally from Wisconsin, with a love for travel, the ocean, and telling stories through the moments that often go unnoticed.

I picked up my first camera in 2020 and pretty quickly realized photography was going to become so much more than a hobby. It gave me a way to freeze the moments I wished I could hold onto forever the messy, beautiful, emotional, completely real ones.

Since then, my camera has taken me through couples, graduations, celebrations, brands, beautiful places, and experiences around the world.

I want your photos to feel lived-in, effortless, emotional, and timeless, images that years from now bring you right back to exactly how that moment felt.

I put a lot of heart into what I create, but even more into the people and stories behind it. Whether I’m photographing you in San Diego, back home in Wisconsin, somewhere in Hawaii, or halfway across the world, my goal is simple:
